Background Infomation
Rolled out in December 1990 by the Government and implemented by the Driving Standards Agency. The idea was to skill up new Motor Bike learners in Road safety and Basic Roadcraft to reduce the number of road incidents involving motorcyclists.
To this end, all Full and Provisional licence holders must complete a CBT to ride on the road. UNLESS they held a FULL Driving Licence before Feb 2001, in which case they can ride a Moped up to 50cc without L Plates.
Training what's covered?
Theory, safety, Bike maintenance, how to control and handle your bike on and off road, and best riding practices.
This course is normally completed within one day. Unless otherwise advised our courses start at (9:00am and finish 5:00pm) but could finish earlier depending on the individual's skill level.
Please understand this course is an introduction to Biking and no previous experience is required.
Included in the price (Bike Hire, Fuel, Full Comprehensive Bike insurance with NO excess and a Safety Helmet if required).
Please note personal injury is not covered, you are agreeing to ride a moped or motorcycle at your own risk.
You will be asked for a non-refundable deposit on booking. This deposit will be forfeited whatever the reason if you don’t attend or are late for the start of the course.
Once you have your CBT certificate you will be able to ride SOLO:
At sixteen any machine Automatic or Manuel up to 50CC. But you must display FULL-size L Plates front and back on your machine and you can’t ride on a Motorway or carry a pillion.
At Seventeen or above Automatic or Manuel MotorBike from 50cc to a maximum of 125cc. But you must display FULL-size L Plates front and back on your machine and you can’t ride on a Motorway or carry a pillion.
